The elements of the jury have meet in Lisbon on February 18th to analyze the works of the entrant artists.
Navigator Art on Paper, curated by Filipa Oliveira, is the largest award for art on paper in the world. Its mission is to support art creation on paper, accentuating its value as one of the media for innovation, creativity, research and art.
Visual artist Pedro A. H. Paixão was the winner of last year’s 1st edition of the Navigator Art on Paper Prize.
Born in Lobito, Angola, Pedro A. H. Paixão lives in Milan since 2000, but his most significant work relationships continue to be developed in Portugal. With an MA in Fine Arts by The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and a PhD in Philosophy by the University of Porto, this artist’s work is notable for the simultaneously political and poetical charge reflected in his drawings, which summon into the light images that previously stood in darkness.
