In 2005, Francisca Carvalho (Coimbra, 1981) completed the Advanced Course in Visual Arts at Ar.Co – Centro de Arte e Comunicação Visual, in Lisbon. She holds a degree in Philosophy by Universidade Nova de Lisboa and a Masters in Fine Arts by Mount Royal School of Art at the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA), where she taught Drawing between 2008 and 2011. In 2014 she received a Fulbright Scholarship /Carmona e Costa Foundation. Her exhibition trajectory includes the following solo shows: O assalto violento do burro, curated by Cíntia Gil and sponsored by Alecrim 50, Lisbon (2010), Portmanteau, Alecrim 50, Lisbon (2012), Nove desenhos, Parkour, Lisbon (2014), and Chordata, Culturgest, Porto (2016). She has participated such group shows as:  Summer at my place, Alecrim 50, Lisbon (2010), Francisca Carvalho and Pedro Faria, Croxhapox, Ghent, Belgium (2014), Small Victories, School 33, Baltimore (2016). Francisca Carvalho was also co-founder and coordinator of Atelier Concorde in Lisbon (2010 – …).
